Classes and Workshops
Martha Pineno began her formal training at age 13 when she was enrolled in an oil painting class at a community building in her home town. During the late 1970s, her parents supported her art training through 6-week art camps at Mansfield State College, PA and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, PA. Since the age of 15, Martha has been sharing her insight and training with classmates, students and colleagues. Marti studied at Millersville University for 4.5 years to earn a B.S. in Art Education in 1981.
Martha’s entrepreneurial spirit, guided her to retire from pubic school. She taught private art lessons and founded a non-profit arts organization which thrived into 2011. She illustrated five picture books in collaboration with her mother – a music educator, pianist, writer: Talented Tabby, Leonardo’s Lesson, Hat for Hannah, Box of Bears. Marti also designed and published a memoir Collectibles for her mother. Her picture book Coffee Connection was a tribute to the art, music, studio, coffeehouse, bakery that Marti owned/operated.
